And the pips just keep on coming! Let's read the 6s & 7s...
Alright, let's see how you're doing... you've made it through the first half of the Minor Arcana so, first please do pause to pat yourself on the back for that accomplishment! Now, let's see how making it through steps Ace through 5 have affected you as we continue our adventure with the 6s and 7s. The tarot numerology of the 6: this is a number of harmony, balance and service to others. Specifically it can ask for you to balance materialism with spirituality and to |
respect yourself and others seeking harmony in relationships. We are seeing the responsibility required for freedom from the 5s, come into play in the 6s. Also a bit of a break from the conflict of the 5s, 6 provides a bit more stability - half way between our first completion point (3) and our pen ultimate ending (9) where we do our final tweaks before ultimate completion. This may be a point at which you'd make some alterations in your thoughts, attitude, approach before moving to the second half of your journey. It's also a good point to notice that you have risen above the challenges that the 5s presented to you.
Let's read the 6s!
Quick Reminder: though I'm sure you've got the hang of it by now and are doing really well... to read the cards combine: number + suit + image/story = meaning

Six of Pumpkins - the classic trick or treat moment, and yay look at me in the black cat costume clearly I'm getting a treat! But what about my ghost friend? Can't tell how he feels about the situation but, his bag looks empty and his arms are outstretched asking for his share. Will she give him a treat too? Clearly her bowl is not empty and she has plenty.
Possible meanings: selectively handing out resources, having more than enough to give to another, balancing who is more in need
Six of Ghosts - happy little ghost couples who look like they've come to the cemetery to reminisce about the good ol times. The one in front even presents a flower to his girl, how sweet.
Possible meanings: being nostalgic, an innocent connection with another, meeting a childhood friend, feeling safe and secure
Six of Bats - wonder what happened here? a woman and child being helped across a body of water by the great caped pumpkin (maybe this is the one that Charlie Brown was searching for? oh... I digress). At least it looks like calmer waters up ahead.
Possible meanings: taking a trip, (yes the images can be that literal! The interpretation will really depend upon your perspective, the question you asked AND what you see, hear, feel or notice when the images comes up for you), moving away from conflict into a better situation, (how green does that grass look by the way?), accepting help from others to ease your mind
Six of Imps - well now, 6 very happy imps parading down the path on their well dressed horse with their kitty. Was the kitty lost and they just found him and are bringing him home? Or did they go out and secure a new black kitty to bring back to their local Witch who promised them some Eye of the Newt in return for the favor? Clearly they are happy about this and are arriving to their destination fully announced! But is this a good exchange? The kitty looks uncertain to me.
Possible meanings: success, fruitful creative idea, optimism, early victory (cost yet unknown), you're bringing home a new cat!

Shall we on to the 7s then? Let's...
Lucky Number 7s!
The tarot numerology of 7: a number of spiritual awakening, discovery, and faith. This is the point at which you trust that which cannot yet be seen. A clear progression in growth, a pause to recognize the inner changes we have made as a result of the journey thus far. This inner knowing encourages us to dig deeper, reflect upon wisdom and knowledge gained.
Wow - deeper than expected? Let's reflect on the 7s in the Halloween Tarot deck.
Seven of Ghosts - A warrior, his happy black cat in his arms is pondering 7 ghosts floating above him. But, what of the images on the chests of the ghosts? a dragon, diamond, snake, castle... what could that mean. Given that 7s are about inner reflection could this warrior be reflecting upon what is most important to him? Is it strength, riches, cunning, security... can he have it all or must he choose? or is he just imagining all that could be as he builds "castles in the sky"?
Possible meanings: visioning, overactive imagination (notice he's not taking any action on any of these illusions, just considering them), considering temptations, pondering that which is illusion versus reality.
Seven of Bats - did this clever onion just steal 5 bats from the circus behind him? He looks pretty darn happy with himself but, he's definitely looking back over his shoulder to see if he can get away with it.
Possible meanings: being impulsive, being deceptive, having trust issues (always looking over your shoulder), having a tendency to fib, tell white lies or take advantage of others.
Seven of Pumpkins - awww, I like this one, pumpkin farmer looks to be admiring his crop while taking a moment to reflect on the pending harvest. Kitty is probably wondering if he'll carve one up in his likeness. The pumpkins do look ready to harvest though so, why would this farmer hesitate? Isn't there more to life than hanging out at work?
Possible meanings: cultivating your resources, considering investments in time, energy and finances, stopping to admire or reflect upon work completed so far, could show a workaholic or someone more focused on work than enjoying the fruits of their labor.
Seven of Imps - look closely... that is one courageous young person to go masquerading as an imp! This guy clearly will do whatever it takes to get to where they are going at the top of that hill. That takes confidence and guts! Are you willing to do whatever it takes to reach your goal?
Possible meanings: The courage to stand your ground, the determination to do what it takes to achieve your goal

Practical Application & Tarot Tip...
Practical application moment: Read your cards using this example... You've just completed a very important project at work, your promotion may even be dependent upon your managers approval of your work. So, you of course, consult your trusty tarot deck to open up a divine conversation and get some guidance. You ask the divine, "How should I approach my presentation for this project to give it the best chance of approval?
What message might you interpret from each of the 7s?
(I've included some possible answers for you)
What about if you had received one of the 6s? How might your answers / guidance differ? Try this approach with any of the cards we've explored so far OR try it on any card you have in your tarot deck... it's great practice and really fun to see what messages can come up for you.
Are you beginning to see how reading tarot can help guide you along the yellow brick road of life? I never cease to be amazed at what I find when I open up a conversation and ask for some guidance. The more deeply I connect with each of my decks, the more profound and clear the guidance becomes.
Tarot Tip: This is part of the reason that it is so important to choose a deck that you really feel you can enjoy. As you can see from the Tarot Tour we've been on so far, the meanings come to you with reflection and a willingness to pause to allow the messages to reveal themselves. No sense in staring at images that you don't like for extended periods of time just because someone told you it was "THE" deck you had to have!

- 7 of Ghosts: Show them all of the results you've achieved but, don't be too "pie in the sky" about it.
- 7 of Bats: Show them how you've taken advantage of the opportunities presented but be keenly aware that not everyone in the room will be thrilled with your clever ways, give credit where credit is due.
- 7 of Pumpkins: Show them the fruits of your labor and if you've worked really hard for it, even sacrificed to make it happen, be sure to point that out. In particular if this one shows up for you, you might ask for the promotion right then and there! (You've worked really hard to produce this harvest for them... let them know!)
- 7 of Imps: Muster up your courage to stand your ground and be willing to defend your project even if parts of your work are unconventional. Your tenacity will be key.
